Do you find it weird, The way Kings & Queens, Shared? Or, so it seems... They share the trait, Of being great! The "good" kings, Brought about, Good things, Including, Their offspring. Like father, Like son, Like mother, Like daughter, At least, When it did matter, And, then some? Slayer of the beast! Where to begin? Lilith to Joseph and Mary, Present the Prince of Peace, At the nativity, Upon death, It didn't cease... But, we'll get to MacBeth, On to Clodius, Godwulf and Cyllin, Who gave delivery, To a very young, Old King Coel... You know? A very merry soul, And, then some? The bloodline, Would continue to grow, Throughout time, Arthur bringing chivalry, To society, On through the reign of Charlemagne, And, though evil, Did spill, The blood of Duncan, The strong arms of the Armstrongs, Did show how man can... Overcome! Here is some: Fair is foul, and foul is fair: Hover through the fog and filthy air. Be lion-mettled, proud; and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are: Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come against him. That will never be Who can impress the forest, bid the tree Unfix his earth-bound root? Sweet bodements! good! Rebellion's head, rise never till the wood Of Birnam rise, and our high-placed Macbeth Shall live the lease of nature, pay his breath To time and mortal custom. Bring it after me. I will not be afraid of death and bane, Till Birnam forest come to Dunsinane. Who knows? I suppose, It didn't take MacBeth long, To understand the "arm strong"? Drum and colours. Enter MALCOLM, SIWARD and YOUNG SIWARD, MACDUFF, MENTEITH, CAITHNESS, ANGUS, LENNOX, ROSS, and Soldiers, marching Let every soldier hew him down a bough And bear't before him: thereby shall we shadow The numbers of our host and make discovery Err in report of us. And, so Good... As it should, Triumphs over Evil, And, still... To this day, Things remain that way.
NOTES
The Siwards became known as the Armstrong clan because of the
strength they displayed that day. The modern-day Armstrong
coat-of-arms still bears the likeness of a strong arm holding up a
tree branch.
