Our flag flies for all Americans. The American flag does not represent just one point of view, political party, or creed. It belongs to all Americans, regardless of race, religion, or political beliefs. This fact could not have been better demonstrated than the way all Americans unified as one people after the tragic and cowardly attacks of September 11, 2001.A patriotic fervor swept the country, and our colors were flying over more homes, businesses, schools, churches, trucks, and cars in the fall of 2001. Since then we are all the more conscious of the fact that we live in troubled times. The men and women of our Armed Forces who are serving in Iraq, and other troubled places in the world, risk their lives daily to defend the freedoms we have come to cherish which is what our Star Spangled Banner represents.
Our flag is not a symbol of war, bigotry or oppression, but one of compassion, liberty and justice for all. As proud Americans we stand together united as one and fly our flag proudly in appreciation of tbis great county.
